🛡️ Information & prevention

Responsible gambling in Belgium

Online gambling should remain entertainment. This page gathers official Belgian resources, self-protection tools and free help organisations available across Wallonia, Brussels and Flanders.

📋 EPIS self-exclusion

EPIS — the national register of excluded persons

EPIS (Excluded Persons Information System) is the central protection tool set up by the Belgian Gaming Commission. Free enrolment, online procedure, automatic effect across every licensed casino in Belgium.

1

Online enrolment

Go to the official site gamingcommission.be. Fill in the EPIS form using your national registry number. The request is processed within 48 working hours.

2

Automatic activation

Once enrolled, you are automatically excluded from every licensed online casino, every physical slot hall and every bookmaker. No further action is required.

3

Duration and renewal

Self-exclusion is valid for a minimum of six months, tacitly renewable. You may request withdrawal after this period via a dedicated form.

🔞 Minor protection

Online gambling is strictly forbidden under 21

Belgium is one of the strictest European countries on minimum age: 18 for sports betting, but 21 for online casinos and slot machines. Every licensed operator must verify your identity (KYC) before any deposit and before any withdrawal.

⚠️ Protect your children

  • Enable parental controls on every device used in the home.
  • Never let a minor access your casino credentials or bank card.
  • Talk openly with teenagers about the risks of gambling and online sports betting.
  • Report any site that fails to verify age to the Belgian Gaming Commission (signalement.gamingcommission.be).
  • For younger children, watch out for loot boxes and mobile mini-games that mimic casino mechanics.
